Hello, my name is Priscilla King. I was born in Rockland, Maine, and raised in Falmouth, Maine. I am a retired high school mathematics teacher and received my BS in Secondary Mathematics Education from the University of Maine. I have always enjoyed working with adolescents, as a high school math teacher, Girl Scout leader, camp counselor, and adviser to a National Junior Honor Society group at the school where I taught. Outside of the classroom, some of the activities I enjoy are traveling, various handcrafts such as quilting and knitting, swimming, and Lions Club activities. My job at Ironwood is that of tutor; I thoroughly enjoy this, because I feel that I can help each Ironwood student, with some personal academic attention, to succeed in his or her academic program. Ironwood is able to take a student from where they are when they arrive at the school to a positively-changed person when they leave. My philosophy is: " any student, when given a chance and some caring, can reflect it back and learn." Ironwood follows that philosophy.
