Hello - My name is Karen McPhedran. I am originally from Michigan. I have also had the privilege to live in Indiana. I have been married to Scott for 25 years and we have two daughters. Alli is a senior Gordon College in Massachusetts and is currently studying abroad at Uganda Christian University. Hannah is a freshman at Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire. We moved to Maine in the summer of 2003 and I can't imagine living anyplace else!

I am grateful to be working in a beautiful setting where children are valued, respected and accepted. I have worked with children for the past 28 years in various situations: teacher, mentor, youth leader and counselor, Girl Scout leader, etc. Through my experiences of working with children, it has been a joy to see them reach goals, become independent, develop leadership skills, accept themselves, be a friend to someone, listen to and accept others.

I enjoy spending time with my family and sharing my home with friends. Each season is a blessing with fall being my favorite. And then there's Christmas - what more can I say? A time for miracles, magic, wonder, anticipation, preparing, celebrating, secrets, scents, giving and saying thank you.
